Weirdest Headache Ever

Well, I had my first migraine headache on Friday. How do I know it was a migraine? Well, I had the migraine with auras - flashing colors and blind spots. I described it first as a prism that started in my vision and then it grew into a VERY LARGE, sickle-shaped object of flashing colors and blind spots. It had black lines between colors so it kind of resembled a stained glass window or a kaleidoscope (only it was sickle shaped). And it didn't just occur in one eye, it was both. I felt generally odd/not right, and my neck (at the base of my skull) mostly felt like I needed to go get cracked at the chiropractor. I was a bit nauseated.

Luckily this vision part of this headache happened as I was driving into the driveway (making navigating into the garage kind of tricky). I then went upstairs into the den, began googling "prisms in vision" and then realized that seeing small things was all but impossible.

After several minutes in the dimly lit den, the vision started getting back to normal. Then...tiredness set it. I was wiped out!

While all of this going on, the left side of my face tingled a bit and I was having a really hard time making my thoughts come together to make clear sentences. I kept having the children check to see if my smile was symmetrical and to look and see if my tongue stuck out straight. It did. . . so I determined that there was no stroke going on - ha.

Today, my neck had the same cricked, needs to be cracked feeling, but no headache or vision event. Go figure. Life is crazy sometimes.
